Reunion 2024 brought Ephs from around the world to campus for a weekend of celebration and reconnection. Congrats on a successful weekend filled with over 50 events! Many thanks to the more than 2,700 Alumni and their friends and family who joined us in Williamstown this weekend!

The oldest alum in attendance was Michael Robbins from the class of 1949 celebrating his 75th Reunion! Also in attendance were 10 alumni and honorary members of the Class of 1954 celebrating their 70th reunion.

202nd Annual Meeting of The Society of Alumni

The following awards and announcements were presented at the 202nd annual meeting of The Society of Alumni on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Unfortunately, the meeting was interrupted and cut short due to inclement weather. The meet continued online on June 27, 2024 from 7-8 p.m. Eastern time, during which the official business of electing officers and members of the Executive Committee of the Society of Alumni occurred.

Major Awards

Williams proudly bestowed its highest recognition for alumni service to the recipient of the Rogerson Cup, Rich Levy ’74.

Nathaniel “Nat” Heintz ’74 received the Kellogg Award for Career Achievement.

Marty Wasserman ’64 won the Thurston Award for his excellent work as Class Secretary.

The Copeland Award for volunteerism in admissions went to Tom Parker ’69.

Suzy Akin ’84 was awarded the Callahan-Overton Award for her service as Class Agent.

The Joseph’s Coat, in recognition of a highly esteemed member of a post-50th Reunion class, went to Tony Volpe ’59.

Class Attendance Awards

The Reunion Trophy, awarded to the class with the highest percentage of registered and present classmates, went to the Class of 1999 with 40.9% in attendance. The Reunion Bowl, for the class with the greatest number of members registered and present, went to the Class of 1989 with 214 members attending.

Milestone Philanthropy–Fiftieth Reunions

In June, Class President Rich Levy ’74 and Reunion Fund Chairs Fran Doran ’84 and Bob Patterson ’74 presented a total class gift of $11.5 million to President Mandel at the annual meeting. This gift included more $3.5 million raised for their class gift purpose, the Class of 1974 Student Opportunity Fund, which will fund internships, fellowships, and scholarships for students. This gift builds on a commitment made at the class’s 25th Reunion. In addition, the class raised another $3 million supporting access and affordability at the College including support for scholarships and supporting First Generation students and Non-traditional students. The class also supported the Alumni Fund with $1.8M in gifts and pledges. More than 70% of the class participated in the 50th reunion gift.

Milestone Philanthropy–Twenty-fifth Reunions

In June, Becky Logue-Conroy ’99, Class Co-President, Joe Kauffman ’99, Class Co-President and Leadership Committee Co-Chair, and Leigh Winter Martin ’99, Leadership Committee Co-Chair, presented the college with the 1999 25th Reunion gift of $6.3M made possible through the generous support of 59% of the Class of 1999. Of this overall gift, $1M will support the all-grant financial aid program, including $300k from the Class of ’99 Scholarship Fund for non-traditional students. The class also supported the Alumni Fund with $1.3M in gifts and pledges.
