The tournament is played over three days, Friday through Sunday, and consists of five 9-hole matches. The format is four-ball (better ball) match play, under the rules of the United States Golf Association. All play will be at scratch.
Please note that you could be teeing off as late as 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Please plan Sunday travel accordingly.
Alumni may enter with either an alumnus/a or a non-alumnus/a guest. The combined handicaps of partners must total at least 10 strokes, and partners’ handicaps must be within 10 strokes of each other. On-line entry form must be completed by April 15, 2014.
In an effort at fairness for the many alumni who want to participate in the tournament, a lottery selection system was instituted for the 1999 Tournament and will be used again this year. To be included in the lottery draw, your submitted application and payment must be completed or postmarked by April 15, 2014. Applications will be randomly drawn by new head pro Josh Hillman, at Taconic Golf Club. Applicants will be notified in early May of their selection or wait list status. In the case of last-minute dropouts, an invitation will be extended to the next team on the wait list until the field is full.
Assignments to flights and pairings for match play will be made on Monday, July 21st. The flights and pairings will be posted at Taconic Golf Club (413) 458-3997 and e-mailed to you early in the week. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up in all flights.
The entry fee covers Thursday practice rounds, five 9-hole rounds of golf, and cocktails and dinner Friday and Saturday nights. Continental breakfasts will be provided at both Taconic and Waubeeka Clubhouses each morning of the Tournament. Additional dinner tickets for family or friends may be purchased for $50 for Friday and Saturday. Spouses/guests will have opportunities to play informally without charge.
Housing is available in college dorms for three nights at $170 per person; please add the cost to your entry fee. You may also book your own accommodations. https://www.williams.edu/visitors/
