"You can be excellent [at poker] and still wind up losing and not just losing for a short period of time, but losing for long stretches because the element of luck is really predominant… if you really stick with it and you have to be really patient with it, then after months and months and months of losing you can start winning again and you will still be a long term favorite."

Austin Wand '68 is a retired radiologist now living in Las Vegas, NV. Recently, he has gotten into local politics and shares some of his experiences in that space, talks about poker, and credits some of his teachers at Williams for helping to shape his journey.
